Script keeps creating blank script lines and causes Studio to be unresponsive

Considering this is my first post on the Developer Forum, forgive me if the formatting of this post can be considered poor and/or lame. Also forgive me if the category is incorrect, I am pretty sure it belongs in #help-and-feedback:scripting-support, considering the problem is revolving around a script and its malfunctions. Let me know if it this post is incorrectly categorized and I will change it.

Hello there, fellow Developers!

So recently, when I inserted a script into my project’s Workspace and opened it, I was met with a half-unresponsive script editor. It was greatly laggy even if my laptop was not experiencing lag, my internet connection was rather good and everything EXCEPT the script editor worked. This is very likely to be a problem with Roblox Studio. However, that is something I do not know yet and there is not really a way I can figure that out without external assistance from fellow developers or those experienced with this. Studio ceases to function and instead fails to respond, and if it does, multiple blank lines of script appear in the script I have inserted into the Workspace and opened. Before you ask, yes, I did wait a bit for Studio to respond and stop freezing every second but nothing happened. The issue still persists. Also yes, I do know this may be a potential bug with Studio and should be reported in #bug-reports:studio-bugs, if that is the case, I will not be afraid to report it there. Now, last time I checked, up to 30+ lines were created without my consent. Studio just decides to freeze and create some blank lines. As simple as that…

What are your PC specs? It could be your computer getting slow.

If I remember correctly, for Studio work I have a simple office work Celeron laptop, other than that I don’t remember my specs. I don’t think the speed of my laptop and/or its operations has got to do with Studio making random blank lines in a script without both my consent and interaction, though.

You can find your specs by searching ‘PC’, right click on it, and click on properties. Im guessing you know how to search on windows. From what you said about having a celeron CPU, depending on the generation of it, it would really affect the performance of studio. But saying that, it shouldn’t crash from typing one line.

Alright so I was given external advice by a friend and he suggested I take a look at my plugins and restart my Studio after. I did that and everything worked well. No more malfunctions with the script editor and all. Guess some plugins are to blame, considering a fair amount of plugins had script injection permissions and could easily create problems with the script editor.
