When I edit something in my script it removes the next letters or numbers in the next space.
I have been having this issue ever since I had a new pc and its annoying.

You probably pressed “Insert” button on your keyboard while typing by accident, press on that button again to disable it.

is there a way to perm disable this
It is part of your computer’s architecture. Depending on your OS, there may be a way to disable this specific keyboard input.

I don’t think you can using studio settings but you can disable it entirely using windows registry editor.

Click “insert” on your keyboard and it will fix, you probably clicked that on accident to activate it.
