ScrollingFrame is far too sensitive on Mac trackpad

The title says it all. I noticed this when trying to use the Next Gen Explorer because PluginGuiService isn’t visible even with the setting enabled on my MBP.

It’s nothing like the Qt scrolling behavior - it’s smoother, but it’s also way too fast. I don’t know if this applies to OS X in general or just the trackpad, as I only have a trackpad right now. Since, ya know, Apple decided they were too good for USB-A a long time ago.

It’s overly sensitive to the point of being completely unusable. For a feature as core as the Explorer, that’s kind of a dealbreaker. Glad I can still turn it off, but please ensure this is fixed before that moves out of beta.

@jeditkacheff If you ever look at the DevForums anymore, remember when I was fixing the scrolling on Windows? I guess I should’ve fixed it on Mac too after all :upside_down_face:

On that note, DockWidgetPluginGui:BindToClose() does not work on a Mac. It runs the code, but it closes the window anyway.
EDIT: Doesn’t work on Windows either, it seems. I’ll make a separate bug report for this (if there isn’t one already…)

I believe @tnavarts might be working on a revamp of scrolling as a whole (recalling a few of his replies from some weeks ago). Have just skimmed over your post though so maybe he can clarify whether this rewrite will fix your issue

Oh, great. I worked on it a bit back in 2017 and I feel his pain.

Indeed, I am almost done with a set of changes which will fix trackpad in general.

I submitted a job application with a cover letter offering to just fix bugs for 10 hours a week remotely. I doubt they’ll go for it, but it could be interesting.

Hello, I wonder if this will fix cursor flickering when hovering over scrolling frame?
