Second time using after effects for a gfx

Feedback on this gfx I made
So in essence there isn’t much to this apart from the fact I thought using after effects was a cool thing that came with my adobe sub. So yea.
The reason it is all black in the back is because me being a silly boi exported the actual image from ae → ps.

The background is bland and the lower-body pose is stiff. Otherwise, good.

The background could have more work, other than that, the character is fire! :fire:

@iGottic happy cake day ;)))))))

I like the effects a lot, it really blends in with the GFX! But as mentioned, I think you can put in more effort on the background, like adding a HDRI in it. Besides that, I think you should make a bit of glow on the character since the effect emits light. Other than that, great job, keep up the amazing work!

Effects are amazing. Since everyone is complaining about the background i’ll ask you a question about it. What were you trying to make the background be?

The composition and overall effects look decent, i would try moving the blue effect more to the blade part of the weapon however that is just my opinion.

The character posing structure looks here and there I’m assuming your more focused on the effect rather then the posing appearance. If I were to provide criticism or any feedback I’ll try giving the background a more darker appearance just so the effects could pop more, you should even add more bright colors glowing on the character or the objects in the background. If your just testing the after effect try lowering down the brightness so the effects could give the scene a interesting look. Perhaps add another weapon in the characters hand just to se how the end result looks like.

Otherwise, it’s good, if you’re wanting to spice the design up take a look at existing artist that use after effect and you’ll get a good understanding on what I’m talking about, if your more wanting to add realism.

Originally I actually still have it I had a DOF forest and sky background I made but then after effects wanted to be a little weasel and make sure the png switched to a psd so it came out black

I don’t rlly like hdris they are very over hyped imo if you don’t use them right they ruin the whole gfx and if you do use them right they don’t look nearly as great as they could be if you made a stage etc etc
Also I did state that after effects and ps don’t support full transparency so it turned black not my fault but sorta is

I agree with you the middle bit is meant to be glowing for if you see the mesh it is like a glowing gem sort of. But blender obv doesn’t support robloxs particle system so I switched to using the saber effect the background could of been made if psd supports transparency but overall very good advice tysm

Wow this is really cool!!
I have never heard of anyone using ae to make a gfx, this is really impressive!

I suggest maybe add a bit more dynamism to the pose, make look like the character is heading in a direction, or have a bit more directionality to it. Instead of having that one bright light, you could add a few softer ones, to improve the lighting.

Good job

Tysm I agree it is sort of what the person wanted so I couldnt do much about I think I might do a video about how to make it in ae but other than that it turned out well  the background again is just a ps issue with transparency I did export it using a png its just I went to ae first and then exported to ps etc. This is a example of me actually doing it right
