The other two posts have given me a lot of insight on what I can improve within my game. I have implemented a lot of changes since those, and am now seeking feedback on how the game feels to play (in general), ui, building, etc. I am looking for any and all feedback anyone can provide on what I could improve.
Any and all feedback is appreciated - please be critical, even on the tiniest of things.
Before I say this, I am not an experienced developer, but I will try to give some feedback.
The idea is incredibly creative, and I think has tons of potential for an epic PVP arena fighting game. It’s simple as well, so you’ve got a larger target audience to work with here.
I have a few things to point out though:
There is no time limit, causing games to go on forever if nobody dies.
The building is a bit all over the place. There isn’t a defined colour profile or style. It’s a sort of mix and mash, atleast how I see it. Some maps look like random coloured parts thrown together. The lobby especially looks unappealing.
You can launch yourself if you throw the ball, by having the ball push you. Can be annoying when you’re in a tough situation and it bugs out, thankfully this doesn’t happen that often. I reccomend having the ball spawn a bit further from the player, or make the ball not be able to collide with the players own character.
When I was playing with 2 other people (I was dead), I could only spectate one person who was alive. This suggests that the other person in the server was dead, except the game still went on. I don’t know if this is a bug with the spectating or if it didn’t stop the game after one person remained.
I have a few suggestions too:
You could add SFX for the charging and throw.
You could make a viewmodel for the ball hold, or atleast make it not jiggle around from the roblox walk animation in some way. You could also add an viewmodel animation for charging and throwing the ball.
Maybe you could raise FOV when running, and make the zoom ease out. Sells the illusion of speed.
You could add a gradient to the UI.
You could add a hitmarker to when you hit someone.
Perhaps a preview to the trails?
Overall, I think your game idea is cool and I can see myself having fun with it. (if I could find any players of course)
Keep refining it, and I can see you raking it lots of robux in the near future.
There’s a 5 minute game limit, but the timer only shows to the alive people, which I might change tbh…
Some of the maps (mix-and-mash) I tried to make unique and different to the standard themes you get in other games.
The 1-person spectate was a bug, I’ll check the error logs and fix that. I’ll also make the ball spawn a bit further from the player.
I can’t change the zoom while moving - it would allow the player to see the top of their torso, which would look off…
A hitmarker might be cool, but a player gets eliminated when they get hit so might not work.
About the lobby, I honestly cannot give too much advice, as I am, once again, inexperienced.
However, maybe part of the reason is materials. The building of a lot of elements in the lobby doesn’t feel right with the material of the grass cliffs and the stone statue. The clean floor, coin, bag, leaderboard with their shiny plastic might not go well with them.
Or, it’s likely that it’s just cluttered. Maybe cleaning it up a bit by unifying the style
For example, make all of them stands at a market, and maybe go a bit easy on the signs?
Again, I’m not a builder, but I hope this can help, and if not, maybe you will be fortunate enough to see a real builder give their feedback on this.
