Currently seeking skilled Graphic Designers, Scripters, Builders, Animators, and Performers! Preferably with past experience in Roblox Theatre. Being able to do multiple things is a plus! I’m looking to put this thing together by January and have a Workshop Performance in February. If all goes well we will have public performances sometime in Summer 2019.
This project is not being ran through any specific group at the moment, and if there is a group who would like to sponsor the performances I would be open to that. Otherwise a group will be created farther along in the creative process of the show.
Roblox theatre heavily relies on people with good aesthetic eye in Lighting and moving parts to work.
We are trying to simulate live theatre and to do so people who have typically done theatre or have observed it are the most successful are emulating it.
Pay is not a topic of discussion at the moment, users will be chosen after the initial steps of the workshop are complete to move on to public performances which will collect revenue for compensation
Hello! Basically Roblox Theatre is comprised of a lot of aesthetics when it comes to lighting the stage, moving parts, and so on. So anybody who has the eye for this type of work would be perfect!
Currently, this project is a workshop, meaning it’s experimental and payment will not be discussed until later in the process (ex. when we present it to the public) I would prefer people who would wish to partake to view the work itself as payment as putting something like this together is quite rewarding.
That’s exactly what it is! It has been done before, but it takes a lot of dedication and organization. If everybody involved is on board and goes into it with an open mind, it can be accomplished.
So the pay is only the revenue of the shows? I’d say that’s quite a leap of faith, considering the shows might go nowhere; most games flop. I don’t think you’d find anyone that would work for a percentage of revenue, especially since the shows are planned to start in Summer of 2019. I’d recommend having an upfront payment of robux or a real-world currency to incentivise users to work on this and not give up.
I’m looking for collaboration, not payed work. People who work on this project are going in for risk but should view it as fun, not “work”. It’s a workshop to see if this show will work on the Roblox Medium. If people would like payment I would be willing to work with that considering they have proven to be good in this specific area of expertise. Otherwise, I’m not seeking to pay people for a project start up. Everyone involved wants to be involved for the cause, not the profit.
I agree. It’s highly experimental, and I only recommend those who truly want to see something like this happen. I don’t want to labor anyone and this not work out. Those who work on this project will reap the benefits or lack thereof. In the instance of failure at least we know we tried.
I find it kind of ridiculous that you give us no information on our payment, and you did not state what we would be doing. This is driving people like me away from applying. Personally, parts of these projects like the Performers, etc. deserve to stay out of Developer Forum.
Please keep in mind, you’re trying to hire the best of the best developers on Roblox, and we obviously need to know more about the project, and more about payment.
Until you find those two key facts, I’d be glad to apply.
