Seeking Suggestions for Promoting and Enhancing My Multiplayer Survival Game

Hello Dev Forum community,

I am excited to share that I have been working on a multiplayer survival game, designed for 32 players to engage in an intense battle for survival. In each round, players will experience a unique map featuring a variety of chest types to enhance their gameplay. These chests include wooden (starter) chests at the spawn point, metal chests with slightly better loot, and gold and diamond chests with the most valuable items. Additionally, there are glass chests that are nearly invisible, as well as sand, grass, and lava chests that blend with the environment and offer items for healing or stealth purposes, such as tents.

Players begin with basic weapons like bows and spears, but can acquire more advanced gear such as swords or hooks from higher-tier chests. To make this game enjoyable, I need to have at least 10-15 players participating in each round.

I am seeking suggestions on how to effectively promote my game and build a player base. Would posting on TikTok or investing in ads be a viable strategy? Or are there other avenues I should explore?

I originally started this project in 2018 but put it on hold for five years. Now, I am committed to bringing it to life and would appreciate your insights on how to keep players engaged and returning. For example, should I incorporate game passes or add new features? I am open to any ideas and feedback regarding the game mechanics, chests, or any other aspect.

Thank you in advance for your valuable input and support.

I’m trying to grow a game project of my own, so here’s some advice and tips I learned along the way.

Friends matter: Especially for a 32 player game like yours, you need to get the most out of one player as you can. Encourage them to invite their friends to play using rewards, if they accept, then you’re advertising your game for free, and making it more fun at the same time.

Social media presence: You need to showcase your game to people for them to start playing it. Your game looks amazing, and showing it off on the developer forum is a good start. TikTok and Twitter presence would probably boost you a lot if the right audience finds you.

Critical search keywords: Your game and description should be unique but intriguing and instantly understandable. That way, people who often search for such keywords have more chance to stumble across your game.

Plan your ads, don’t pour your money out: The ad platform on the Roblox platform is very competitive nowadays. Maybe back in 2019, a few hundred robux was enough, but that’s no longer the case, as ads have far larger funding. That’s why, before running an ad or sponsorship, don’t just spend all of your money, but wait for the perfect opportunity to strike, and plan beforehand for how Iong you want your ads to run.
