Selecting instances in explorer bugs out

  1. Select a given item in the Explorer pane
  2. start dragging outside of the area where items would get selected
  3. Notice how the Properties pane still shows the properties for the items, even though they are not being selected.

Not certain if it happens 100% of the time, but as seen in the GIF above, there’s clearly a bug with the Explorer and Properties pane going on.

Does this happen to you in an empty baseplate place? What OS are you on?

I use Windows 10

It does not happen in an empty baseplate place, but it happens in Home - Roblox

Is it a Team Create place? If so, does it happen if it’s not Team Create? Does this happen if it’s saved as a personal game instead of a group game? Does this happen for anyone else in the group?

It’s a Team Create place, yes.
I’ve also confirmed that it happens for other members in the team create session.

I cannot just now open the place as a not-Team Create place, due to it being whitelisted for UI constraints. Although removing the new UI objects and opening the place as a RBXL file does not show this bug.

Can you download a copy of the place with the constraints in it and send me the file (even if you can’t open it)?

can you make a copy of this place and try this? we are trying to narrow down if this is a bug with the new ui layouts and constraints, or something else.

I tried uploading a version without using the UI layouts and constraints here Bug testing - Roblox and entering the place in Team Create mode.

The bug still persists, and seems to be related to team create rather than UI layouts & constraints.

Awesome, I see the issue now. Thanks for the help!

Heya - not to necro, but this is still an issue.

My current studio version is 0.275.0.101727.
Happens regardless of whether something has been selected before dragging.
Happens 100% of the time at the Team Create place I am working on. Does not happen for places that are not using Team Create. As previously, trying to drag an instance shows a 2nd row besides the list of items found in the Explorer tree, as shown below.

(The black square is the 2nd row, and is where I was dragging OldConvert over when taking this screenshot.)

Happens consistently.

This is an issue with Team Create we’re looking into still.

Okay, good then
