Selection tool drag movemnt moves parts towards camera, makes building/moving parts freely hard

This started happening that I know of at the point of an older forum post I made was April 9th, I have not done a lot in studio the last few months time frame, and see its still an issue, it makes it difficult to build or move things. It started happening after the new daggers etc was implemented.

enabled beta feature’s keep in mind I enabled and then disabled some but now that its been a while I can’t remember what exactly it was or what changed since.

System info

  • Windows 10
  • CPU: AMD 7 3700X
  • GPU: EVGA NIVIDIA GeForce 2080 Super
  • Ram: 16 GB 3200hrz

This happens on any place file

Expected behavior

while moving objects with just the selection tool etc, it should just move freely where ever you drag it, and not glitch around and move towards the camera etc.

ever since the new draggers updates and changes the fact parts now intersect other parts while moving them with the selection tool, even with collisions on is also an annoying thing. It now seems like it depends on where your mouse is when you drag it, not only that but selecting parts also seems off, like you have to click in certain spots in some cases.

Roblox was fine before they had to go mess and change things

Also am finding I can’t deselect parts while having multiple parts selected… why must things be broken when they were fine

Seems this issue is related to the selection system raycasting to figure out where to put the part on mouse move, but I guess some backend developer forgot to include the dragging part in the ignore list for that raycast operation.

Update your copy of the StudioTweaks plugin (I believe that’s the one you’re using here), the most recent version will work correctly.

You can update plugins by clicking Manage Plugins in the Plugins tab.

thanks that’s what it was, never would have known that is what it would be. Thought it was on roblox end

If you’re ever in doubt about some strange Studio behavior, a good first step is to try temporarily disabling all of your plugins to figure out if a plugin is broken or interacting poorly with changes to Studio.
