Reproduction Steps

  • User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/105.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
  • Platform Type: PC
  • Device Type: Computer

Expected Behavior

I expect transparency to render differently than it currently does, semitransparent thumbnails don’t look good currently.

I expect transparency to render properly like in this example:

Actual Behavior

I expect asset thumbnails to look like how they used to.

Here’s how the asset above looks like now:

Our internal investigation suggests that this is due to a change in background color from black to white (7 years ago). The transparent pixels are bleeding the white background. The team is working on figuring out the best way to fix this issue since we cannot revert to black background without affecting other thumbnails that have been generated in the last 7 years.
