Setting R15 Player's CharacterMaxSlopeAngle to 0 causes strange interaction / teleporting with Smooth Terrain

While messing around with Smooth Terrain and StarterPlayer properties, after setting StarterPlayer.CharacterMaxSlopeAngle to 0, I found that going over a large slope is fine, but when going over what seems to be a very minimal slope, the player teleports to the middle of the terrain and then fall to their death.

I first got this bug 4/17/2020, at around 6pm EST.

To make sure it wasn’t just with my original game, I created a flat terrain game and just lifted some terrain up and smoothed it. This produced the same results.

From what I’ve tried, it only works with R15. R6 is completely unaffected from what I’ve tried.

Trying with R6 and not being able to get teleported:

To recreate it,

  1. Create a new flat terrain place
  2. Raise the terrain up through any method (I selected and resized a part of it.)
  3. Use the Smooth tool to smooth it to create a slope up.
  4. Set StarterPlayer.CharacterMaxSlopeAngle to 0.
  5. Play wearing R15, and just walk around the slope.

I uncopylocked the recreation place. Nothing was changed except the CharacterMaxSlopeAngle.

You should set your place to force R15, so people with R6 avatars can check out the bug.

Possibly related: I can’t jump.

I updated it, I had it set to Player’s Choice so people could try out both.

There also seems to be nothing directly inhibiting jumping, so that’s strange.
