Shadows on Corners

Hello!

I am a programmer so building/lighting are topics all too new to me.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice regarding shadows in corners. There is a weird situation where there is a “gap” between the edge of a corner and the actual shadow.

This happens specifically when the walls/roof are thin (I find it’s usually below 1 studs). However, with the build I am going for, having thick walls/roof doesn’t look appealing. Examples are below.

Thin walls (0.5 studs), no roof:

Thin walls (0.5 studs), roof (shadows off)

Wide walls (1 stud), roof (shadows off)

If there is no solution to this and it is required to have walls 1+ studs, then I understand and will move on. Thank you.

I believe there are two things you can do to prevent this-- but they are likely very unwanted.
-Configure lighting to have no outdoor ambient color (I think it’s outdoor ambient)
-Union the parts, set their collision to the most complex one, and configure their smoothing angle.

I believe walls need to be over 1 stud thick to completely get rid of this. I seem to remember someone saying 4 studs gets rid of it completely.
