As a Roblox player on desktop, I want to use new player-facing features Roblox is releasing, but they are available exclusively on the Lua app.
I use the website to explore Roblox, play games, shop in the avatar marketplace, and customize my avatar. As a roboomer, I have done this for two decades, and it’s not convenient for me to use my phone, or open the UWP app to re-navigate to the desired page because I find the framerate is inconsistent, and I have to wait for a lot of things I don’t expect to have to wait for, that I don’t have to wait extra for on web.
There are a bunch of cool new features that are exclusive to the app, such as creating and selling entire outfits, and tweaking the positioning of your accessories. If I am on web and I want to modify my avatar, I will go to the avatar customize page because that’s most convenient. But when I realize I need to tweak an accessory, I will then have to open the UWP app and navigate to the correct view in the app to do that, which adds unnecessary time, friction, and frustration.
I want to be able to click a button on the website on certain pages to “View in App”, where it will then either open the app installed on the computer or the app on my phone to the most relevant view.
For example, charts, marketplace, and avatar customize would all be great to have a shortcut to the app for, as they all have generally better UX in-app. This would help increase Lua app adoption, increase adoption of new features, and streamline the experience for users who start off in-browser.
