Shorten the hold period of engagement payouts or restore the old premium payouts system

Recently, Roblox changed Premium Payouts to Creator Rewards under Engagement Rewards. Now, as a surprise, a lot of us creators did not earn any robux from their game’s engagement (via Creator Rewards telling me to sign up to DevEx despite having devexed multiple times before - #18 by Clint5740 and other posts there). A whole gap of two months has caused now several issues for many creators. Smaller creators and games are suffering.

A lot of feedback and several reasonings were given via Introducing Creator Rewards: Earn More by Growing the Community - #3 by JunisL0L as well as other posts below it, several people have complained.

Now after two months of July, the engagement payouts have started pending and arriving in each developer’s robux balance. However, it seems illogical that you have to wait 60 days for all engagement payouts, it did not happen like that within premium payouts.

As said by Roblox “The first rewards will be paid out beginning on September 24th, in 60 days. We need to include this 60 day holding period to give time for credit cards and financial institutions to validate that Robux purchases by Active Spenders are valid.”. This just does not make any logical sense within premium payouts / engagement payouts, a system coming via Roblox. I’d understand a shorter pending time like with the premium payouts but 60 days is outrageous.

Any current earnings that you have made such as from August 14, you will earn it in October 14, or well it will only start pending by then.

Some developers are in need of a constant flow of robux, such as me for advertising and other needs of the game. This two month break as well as the nerf of the payout system has resulted in a difficult situation for many creators. I would need to wait over two months to gather the earnings I would’ve gathered now normally.

I propose that engagement payouts get a shorter hold period as there is not really much verification to that either, it worked just fine before, why change it in terms of engagement payouts? I understand with the new links monetization and active spenders program, however not with the new “premium” payouts as daily engagement is overall coming from players.

There have been also cases of “new audience expansion” and other chargebacks/refunds, and reversals. These need to be addressed. The “Introducing Creator Rewards” post’s latest feedback just tells you all about the situation and how bad it is.

I’d like to point out also what TheNexusAvenger said, the potential punishments also concern. I own a game with a long playtime, as well as a lot of “short” playtimes.

This hurts smaller developers like me who relied on premium payouts to atleast get some extra money to life or growing their games. Waiting a 60-day period to get what’s practically all I make will hurt small developers and give us no chance of growth.

Roblox is garbage. I agree.

For me I’m still receiving payouts on time, maybe this is a bug where a lot of developers aren’t getting paid for some reason?

I’d also like to mention that my revenue has been essentially halved because of this update, I used to earn more with premium payouts.

Nope. They announced there’d be a 60 day holding period.

Its been 61 days and I still haven’t even gotten my robux from Creator Rewards

Really hope premium payouts return in some state as creator rewards are pretty much useless for many small devs including myself. It was also my way to pay devs by just adding them to the payout split.

I sometimes question what Roblox is thinking with these updates.

Like if you asked ANYBODY if this would be a good update, nobody would say it is a good update. What is the point of giving premium players advantages? I got premium for advantages I would get in random small games. Premium doesn’t really feel special unless you have the highest tier (which is probably purposeful so know you spend more money)

Roblox needs to wake up and start listening to its player base, currently they only look at stats and charts to decide updates. Roblox is probably by far the worst game company (except maybe Nintendo) when it comes to listening to the community, and you KNOW its bad when I’m comparing them to Nintendo.

I would love this update to be reversed, but shortening the wait time is the closet we can get to it, as roblox is too busy making more ways to use AI.

Roblox is an abusive relationship

Funnily enough, 60 days seems to be the time it starts pending and then it’ll take additional time.

which is diabolical personally

I started gaining the Creator Rewards payout today, but even so, 60 days is too long, especially for upcoming developers.
