Should I Add A Punish Feature When A Cop or A Bounty Hunter Kills A Criminal?

I’m working on an open-world city where there are things to do, and one of the things you can do is commit crimes, and those crimes (depending on the crime you commit) will give you a certain amount of bounty. So would it be a good move to punish cops and bounty hunters for killing criminals?

Depends on the crime the criminal did. If the crime is minor, punish them. If the crime is major, reward them.

My Opinion:

Yes, it is a good way to prevent a lot of abuse (if it is a roleplay game). But then I would let it depend on what the person did. For example, if the person has done something minor, such as shoplifting, the person should be punished, according to prison. But if, for example, the person has committed a murder and cannot be arrested (think of special intervention teams) then the person can simply be shot if he is found and does something. Different per situation. But I would add it.

Some games like this usually allow a “limit” that the Cop or Officer can kill a criminal, after which they are moved to the criminal team. (Prison Life is a good example)

There’s a game called “Electric State” the game has soldiers and criminals and other jobs, its a wasteland type open-world darkrp game, the game has a “karma” system where it applies to everyone if they kill someone randomly their karma drops (their karma is 3000 max) so if you kill someone innocent you will lose karma and when it drops to the negative numbers you can’t kill anyone anymore until you wait for it to go over the positive numbers. But people who committed crime will have a red name you can kill those people without losing karma, soldiers in there also lose karma by random killing. I know its not an original idea but you can do something based of it, that game came to my mind first.
