Should I charge more Robux for a smaller amount of Gems or simply lower the value of them?

Hi!

So my game is built on “Coins” and “Gems”, where you can buy gems for Robux, or get them by playing the game, and use them to upgrade stuff, or change it into coins. But since the “Coins” and “Gems” are supposed to be small values, so they’re quite valuable In-game, that results in gems being, simply… less… than Robux, that’s is, for every 10 Robux you spend, you’d get 5 gems. Is this a good idea? Has anyone had an experience with this? What should I do?

Reason i’m asking is i feel like players would feel like they’re not getting their Robux-worth, if the overall number they get is less than the Robux they spent, even though the small number in game goes a long way.

Should I do this or should I drop the value of my In-game currency?
Also there’s the conversion rate from gems to coins and vise versa…

TY for reading!

Well, in my experience based on your statement in your post, I do not find this method to be recommendable.
First, people would get discouraged to buy any gamepasses due to the fact they lost more robux than what they can benefit from a gamepass.
Actually, in my experience like this, as a normal user who buys gamepasses, I find this very inefficient because the developer and the player should benefit from this, though I can see it’s really unfair due to the fact the developer’s having more benefits from the buyer, this should be equal in my opinion.
I prefer you make the benefits for the player to be more equal to the developer, like the player should have more benefits for the gamepass because for one, he gave the robux to the developer which is a lost to him if he gives the robux with very small benefits from a gamepass.

I don’t have gamepasses, instead you use the Gems to buy the upgrades, which you can get by playing, too. I’m not sure but i think you may have misunderstood me a little. I’ll set you an example: You buy 100 gems for 200 Robux, with that you can buy extra backpack slots, double coins/ double luck, or trade it into 1000 coins, which gets you a crate. It’s not that it’s unfair or useless, it’s just the subconscious feeling of getting less, even though it goes a long way in the game, and would be proportionally the same even if I raised the prices.

I would make the gems equal to robux by factoring up everything in game. Double the costs, double the payouts, double it all.

That way you don’t lose out at all - the 10 robux is still worth the same as you originally planned, but the number is 10 instead of 5, and whatever you buy with the gems is 10 instead of 5.

Yeah, I suppose that would be the best… even better would probably be makign the gems a little bit more than robux, so you feel like you’re getting some value, but i might just make them 1:1 with robux, yeah.
I still have to figure out good prices, but i knew that this was gonna be an issue seeing how I set up the game currently …
