Should I download blender?

I have a latitude E6420 with the extended graphics card, running windows 10, ~8 years old. I have been thinking about downloading blender but I’ve never really thought it was a good idea because of my laptop’s specifications.

Should I download blender? Do you think it’s a good idea?

if this post is in the wrong category just tell me

I would try it, if you can download an older version. It may not work with a laptop that old, but still try because it’s way better for modeling than studio tools. I don’t really have experience with it, but if blender doesn’t work, maybe try sketchup? :man_shrugging:

I would attempt It. If It’s too big to handle I’d try an older version like @stqrrydev said. I’m not exactly sure If It would work on a latitude considering I use a mid-sized laptop but, I’d try to attempt it first.

You can definitely try it. If u have just 4 GB of RAM in your laptop with no graphics card, then also it will run okay. windows 10 u already have. Im pretty sure blender will run pretty fine coz i used to use it with a worse spec laptop than yours few weeks ago.
I suggest using version 2.8 or above but if it somehow doesnt work, u can use 2.7 as well

Try getting the latest version of Blender instead of an old version. The 2.8 made a few changes regarding changing things up and designing a better interface and toolbar for version 2.8. So when searching for tutorials, always consider taking a view to see if Blender has the capabilities to run on your laptop.

Learning Blender will take patience and time and not something that’ll come overnight. I would recommend downloading the modeling software if you’re wanting to get into creating models that can’t be produced inside studio, or things you could make more easier and complex builds It’s good to use a useful software:

I advise you to download Blender on your window laptop, give it a try and see if your device can handle it. If you want to learn creating builds inside an alternative software download it if it’s needed in your case.

Yes download Blender.

It is the superior software.

I am biased.

Clearly blender is needed for any serious specific building, but on your computer I wouldn’t recommend it

Nay, Blender shall be downloaded regardless of one’s hardware. Blender a necessity along with food, water, and shelter.

I still have that same laptop and it can’t run new blender that well (It can run but it’s not great). Old blender works perfectly though!

I think it is a great option now and in the long run. If you download it now and start using it you will have better knowledge on how to use it when you get your new computer. It may be a slow start but it’s better.

For me, I prefer Fusion 360 because I find it easier to use. Although I’d miss out on textures I find a way, by using the default Roblox decals.

Also, if your map and/or items get leaked/exploited you can always archive the meshes and decals/textures to prevent someone from using them. You can always reupload your meshes after.

There is no harm in trying, worst that could happen is it lags or crashes, but if that doesn’t happen then you can use it. Just try and see.

I downloaded Blender on my computer and it works about as good as roblox studio,
(which isn’t very well but it works)

Thanks for helping me decide everyone!
