I’m working on a game and I have quite a lot of robux on my group already. I recently was falsely banned for 3 days and now I’m scared that I could get terminated for nothing and lose my robux, so I was thinking about changing the ownership to an alt account just in case. I heard some people that were saying that making a group holder is also risky and I just wanted to ask what’s your opinion on this?
I don’t really know what ROBLOX thinks of holder accounts, or whether or not they’re a risky choice.
However, in my experience Holder accounts are a great way, particularly for larger groups or projects with lots of different components, to manage groups and assets all in the one place.
Its also a great alternative for reducing clutter on your main account, and allows you to (technically) appoint more than one owner, as you and another person(s) could share the same role under the holder’s role if you wanted.
I can’t really see anything bad about it, just make sure the account you set up for it is secure and compliant with ROBLOX TOS.
There’s upsides and downsides but I think the main reason is accidental termination / getting hacked.
(e.g if all ur groups have their own holder accounts you have to hack every holder account to get into every group which is a lot harder than hacking one account, and if one holder account or your main gets terminated you still have other groups sourcing funds.)
I will say one of the downsides is if someone does hack the group holder account you may not realize right away since you don’t play on your holder account obviously.
Another reason is I know many people that let friends sign onto their accounts (I advise heavily against this btw and would never do it myself). If you have holder accounts they wont be able to do anything funny.
I don’t see many downsides. Up to you at the end of the day but the holder account should have every possible security measure in place.
I think you should make a group holder. My reasoning for this are pretty straightforward, if you’re banned on your main account you lose everything unless you have some sort of permissions on another account. If you make a group holder account then you will be perfectly fine IF you have the right security enabled. I suggest getting 2 step verification with an authentication app (I use Authy).
