Why doesn’t it matter? If your roblox game gets in trouble if its just made on account you’d get in trouble for it right? Whereas, group game will give you less likelihood?
No but you make the main account the “alt” account so it won’t matter
That’s for the automatic system.
Creating an alt to hold a group, means also setting up 2FA on it, in a reliable way and all. And then, all the automatic E-Mails would also eventually go there, making things even more unhandy.
I mean, I already have multiple google accounts so I can just give it one of those random ones.
The E-Mails would still go to that account or not?
I guess one can set up some redirects, maybe.
This all is just broken. I don’t find it nice that one has to think about creating a Group to define a Group Holder, to magnet pull automatic actions, incase anyone ever finds out how to misuse and trigger automatic actions.
There used to be this phrase by Roblox that said:
We are responsible for both the intended and unintended consequences of our actions.
I understand nothing of what you just said.
Roblox’s action is that they implemented certain automatic system for general safety. Some of these are set to act strictly according to rumours. And if one of those ever issues an unintended action, then it’s an uneasy situation to deal with.
So, here we have one big action. And the action of that big action, is that it can issue more actions on its own. That concept works, but it needs a lot of carekeeping, and sometimes I worry that this is not being done.
e.g. if you publish a Script that contains this
--[[
LoadString
]]
It simply gets rejected, no big deal, no bans or anything. The problem is that, now you can’t upload the ReflectionMetadata.xml
which contains a line with exactly that word and that capitalization. And there’s no chance to get it (as it is) through without anyone fixing it.
This Live-Game Explorer[V3.3] would benefit from having ReflectionMetadata.xml
, for instance
I doubt that when Roblox set up these systems, that they ever intended that. So, this is an unintended action. So, Roblox would be responsible to fix that one day.
The fear is that Roblox could at any time change these systems, where it’s going to be very hard to predict whether some of the things it does is going to be intentionally or unintentionally. Because if it’s unintentionally, it is apparently very hard to recover an account, based on stories. That’s why some think about this Group Holder “concept”.
Now, I am not sure how they recover the Group, if the Group Holder account can’t be accessed.
But, imagine if it would give a penalty instead of just a “Red Message”. If you’d do it on your main account, your main account receives the penalty.
But if you do it on a Group that has a Group Holder, the Group Holder (the account that own’s the group) receives the penalty.
So the Group Holder is the magnet for those automatic actions. I don’t know what kind of automatic actions users receive. I don’t know if users can trick automation to issue those automatic actions.
But Roblox has to clear up the fear in all of this. Because it is really clear that certain Content Creators or stories that are either real or fake, add onto all of this fear.
They have to clear up these rumours:
- Can users actually trick the reporting system to issue unintended automated actions?
- Does automation ever issue strict actions for unintended removals to the owning account?
- Uninteded Removals are something like… “Red Paint” on a Texture being intercepted as something else.
- Or someone new to Robox Studio gives someone they don’t know Team Create access, then the owner gets enforced. That would be unfortunate though, yet I can imagine that happening.
And I really hope that they’ll clear up these rumours one day. Because even I ask myself the question sometimes, “Should I make a game on a main account or through a group holder”.
Because if there’s fear, there’s less safety for us.
This part here does a decent job on explaining the focus it has. https://create.roblox.com/docs/production/creator-store#asset-moderation
But that’s just for Assets.
When I questioned a few users that owned “Clothing Groups”, I asked them why they often do this Group Holder “concept”. And it was often related to things being deleted or something.
Most of them actually just upload things that are copyrighted… Clearly, you do not want to upload any logo you don’t own, without doing research about that said logo, on whether you can do that or not…
Holder - Do nothing on it, never get banned
Non-Holder Editors - Edit, play, get banned and doesn’t matter
Oh, thats an issue then because I’ve already been editing the game through my main account. So, what’s my best route? Alt for holder? Me as admin? Or me as holder, alt as admin?
