I think publishing a game in a group is better because you can keep stuff more organised.

Publishing games on a group and a on a account have their ups and downs. In a group it is much more organised as @Scripted_Vortex said, you can organise payments or a percentage of a payment to your developers when income comes in. Since with groups you can use the payouts feature to pay robux out to certain people. If you did it on a group it would be pending in your account and the robux would go into your account as soon as its done pending. I definitely recomend putting on a group as you can pay developers, and your games are safely stored in a group.

what do you mean with “your games are safely stored in a group” ??

So if your account gets banned for a period or something bad happens, you can have your games stored in your group, for example you can have a alternative account which can hold the group in said situation where you get banned.

A group becouse you can handle the income more and you can employ new scripters, builders and ui desingers

Also you can pay people out straight from your funds instead of wasting robux making up for taxes

Thank you guys! But anyone know if roblox will take 90% fee or 70% if i don’t have premium?

Depends on the game itself. I wouldn’t personally publish it as a group game unless it was made alongside other developers. Group games however make it much easier to pay devs that have worked on the game.

And to answer your other question, i’m pretty sure Roblox recently announced that gamepasses / clothing fees for all users, including those without premium has been changed to 30%, rather than 90 (though i am not entirely sure if this is just for clothing or both clothes and gamepasses).

Group. No non-premium tax. All funds are in one nice location and tax free transfer to other people if you have people working with you. And you can easily start to build a community.

There is no fee like that for groups. Roblox just takes the base 30% that they do from premium users. Unless something changed recently :man_shrugging:

I would always recommend a group, there are advantages:

  • If you hire developers, it’s easier to pay them.
  • If your account happens to get picked in the next ban wave you can have alt in the group to get your games back.
  • You can build a community when your players join your group.
  • Team create sessions are much easier with a group-owned place.
  • Games are easier to organise in a group.
  • All of the game developers get recognised, if you have a team and the place is on your account majority of the players only find your account and not other developers.

There are still personal places on Roblox and some of them are really popular. Many of them are old games because back in the good ol’ days you couldn’t make group games.

If the game is just your solo game project and not that big it might as well be a personal place.

Those are my recommendations.

Group 100%. Funds are much more useful as if it goes to your account, and you wanna buy a service on the forum you gotta pay another 30% fee adding on to the 30% from a gamepass.

Funds means partial security and more range of payment.
