Should I use R6 or R15 for animating my game?

In need of advice sort of. I’ve been playing around in studio and trying to learn to animate. I want to animate using R15 and I’ve been playing around with it but my animations suck more or less. I was wondering if I should keep trying to animate using R15 or just use R6 because it’s simpler? I don’t wanna spend a lot of time animating on 1 rig just to decide I want to animate the other rig.

It depends. If you’re planning on making a parkour/obby type of game, I personally advise to use R6, but other than that, I think R15 is good enough.

(Edit: If you want more detailed animations, I would recommend you use R15.)

Well the game I aim to make is a fighting game. Should I just use R15 since I want detailed animations? Would it be easier?

Hmm… If it’s a fighting game and you want more detailed animations, I would use R15 if I were you. It gives you more parts inside the player’s model that you can work with and make them more detailed.

I can imagine R6 being easier to animate, but R15 animations are much more detailed. I would personally do R15 animations

Thanks for the advice. I’ll focus on using R15. Have a great day!

No problem! Good luck on your animation(s)!
