Let’s say I’m looking for a full version of a song with a duration of 3:37.
I go to the audio library and I find two versions of the song:
Song 1: 2:00
Song 2: 3:37
So I would know to use Song 2 instead of Song 1 just by looking at it instead of having to listen all the way through it to see if it has a longer length.
This post was made over three years ago and has not been implemented. This would still be incredibly useful for those that use the Roblox audio library. Roblox knows the audio length because that is what decides how much an audio upload coasts, just display it on the view page!
As a Roblox developer, it is currently too hard to use the website library to find audio that fits in my desired length, and it is currently too hard to gauge how long audio is when using its individual asset page.
To address the first issue, take a look at this image.
Why is displaying the length useful? (Use-cases?) It lets us know:
How long the audio is without having to set up a stopwatch just to time it’s length,
Not having to constantly switch between the website and the studio,
Making sure I only get short or long audio instead of randomly guessing,
And many other reasons not listed.
If Roblox is able to address this issue, it would improve my development experience because I would be able to select a song knowing it’s length beforehand.
@buildthomas Thanks for letting me know. (Apparently I forgot this existed.)
