I made a simple grenade with destroying physics. Any feedback?
Can you upload the video on YouTube or something? This is annoying, to be honest.
Also, the fact we can’t see it because we lack access…
My bad, ill upload it shortly
Thanks for letting me know
it require autorisation to access so yea a youtube video might be a better showcase idea for sure
not bad i was looking to a potion throwing system i think i know who can help out now
To be honest, it’s really funny. I don’t know why but it is. Anywho, for improvements. I would suggest setting the network owner of the grenade to the player as it spawns to prevent that small hiccup it has as it spawns as well as fixing the animations a bit and making use of custom explosions for a better visual. Maybe also try using screen shake? And a ringing sound?
True, but i metioned it was a simple one, im not making it for a game. Im simply testing the Velocity systems
Looks good.
Do you know what causes that lag when the projectile spawns? I’ve seen it in some other games…
Hehehe you’re totally right, the animation does look a little bit goofy.
Anyhow @TheTalkingMan2022 the animation is really the only take away I have, its a little bit choppy, ofc I am no professional animator so I couldnt tell you how to fix it
PS: Isnt that a stick grenade? I thought they detonate when they hit something… probably thinking of something else lol
SimTek also makes an amazing Grenade too… with a tutorial for those needing to learn.
Here’s the Youtube Link
I have followed this tutorial myself, my grenades are even more basic though, as I didn’t bother making animations for them at the time. I thought the OP’s grenade was perfect tbf. Only thing I’d do different, is have the player hold the grenade right-side up, but that’s personal preference. This could seem more realistic.
Usually depends on the type of stick grenade. There are many types, Most would have been timed pull cords, I believe it was mostly only anti-tank grenades that detonated on impact.

set network owner of the grenade on the server then set the velocity on the client to help with the delay.
