Description:
Hello, fellow Devforum members! Recently, I started working on a simplistic showcase game after playing around with the studio lighting, along with some of my old models (a few came from plugins). It’s basically supposed to be a small island in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by water, hills and overall nature.
As this is my first time using terrain building for one of my games, I would appreciate any feedback possible on what I could potentially implement to it, such as extra decorations or detail. Keep in mind it took me around 2-3 days and is still work in progress, but this is the main spawn area.
That’s considered insane work if I did it myself even for my computer. Just one issue though, The lighting is more on the red side, Unless that’s the style you are aiming for.
I’m more used to realism, but this seems okay for a simple showcase. There seems to be a problem with your cobblestone path as it is above the ground and should really blend in with your terrain like any path would. Also, I wouldn’t used that type of textured grass as it doesn’t appeal to my eye. As @granday_electronics said, I’m also not sure if you intended to make the lighting more reddish/orange, but it seems a bit much (imo).
For decoration, you could add street lamps/lanterns along your path, maybe a river with a bridge, a mountain, rocks/plants/vegetation, perhaps a small cabin somewhere–anything really. I suggest you play around with the lighting a bit more though. Good luck!
