Simulating Roblox Drag Placement

What is the best way to achieve this? Would getting the mouse hit’s CFrame LookVector be the best? I want an object to follow the player’s mouse and change its orientation based on the parts it hits.

Try looking at Clonetroopers FE build tools, they should also have a similar drag placement system
