Hello all, we are pleased to publicly announce that our current project is close to release! We’re calling it Site-76: Prison Anomalies, a game heavily inspired by the chaos of games such as Space Station 13 and the universe of SCP. The main gameplay loop of Site-76 is similar to other prison games - escape, cause mayhem, steal things to make money, but we’re aiming for a much crazier version of these, with a few unique twists - anomalies being the key one.
As a bit of background, Site-76 is a rundown, heavily underfunded facility operated by the Foundation that can barely keep it’s prisoners (who are effectively on site as test subjects for numerous anomalies also kept here) contained, who are able to easily cause mayhem by using the poorly-planned layout of ventilation shafts and maintenance tunnels. Escaped prisoners are able to release these anomalies as an act of revenge against the foundation, who all have unique AI pathfinding as well as voicelines and the ability to play as them, should you so be inclined! To keep things interesting in the long term as well, there is also a permanent upgrade system in place, to give you a goal of something to work towards with the money you earn.
Prisoners can also start heists for certain specific inanimate anomalies, which are highly valued by a mysterious organisation that has several agents hidden in certain areas of the facility that you are able to sell these anomalies to. Finally, prisoners who choose to leave the facility behind altogether may be picked up by a rogue band on insurgents called the Chaos Insurgency, who have sworn to destroy the Foundation and to release all contained anomalies! Furthermore, the facility is so poorly kept, that the prisoners even have their own contract system tied in to the Insurgency, where prisoners can accept assassination jobs on certain members of the foundation team…
Foundation members have to do their best to keep the facility running smoothly, with the Foundation team having several different jobs available to it - from playing as doctors, security, generic staff members, all the way up to working as the site director yourself. The foundation are responsible for repairing broken machines, fuseboxes, taking in the bounty from certain highly-troublesome prisoners, leading the recontainment efforts on anomalies, capturing rogue CI agents, and, should it come to it, making the ultimate sacrifice and detonating the facility entirely should things become hopeless.
We’ll be releasing more info over time as the game still isn’t that stable, but we will be opening in early access soon for people to at least take a look at what we’re doing. We’re aiming for early access to just be a way for people to help test bugs and to rate their overall experience of the game to help shape the final product - which is why we don’t want to release for free straight away, we don’t want people getting put off by potentially game breaking bugs they may find.
This project is massively different to our previous game of Witching Hour, so we accept that some people may be a little surprised at what we’ve spent the past few months doing. There are also a lot of people who may be bored and upset by the copy-and-paste nature of other games inspired by the SCP genre on the ROBLOX website, but we hope to be the mould breaker here, and I think you will all be pleasantly surprised by what we have envisioned for Site-76! Stay tuned!
