The avatar bundle validation provides different minimum/maximum scale requirements than what is stated in the avatar guidelines documentation. It also doesn’t respect the proportion type. The documentation has the correct sizes.
For example, this is Rthro-Normal proportions. It says Torso has a minimum height of 1.7, Legs have a minimum height of 1.4, and full body is 3.2. With this change, 1-stud tall avatars are possible.
Thank you for bringing this up to our attention! As you noted, the min/max bounds for avatar size has been revised to accommodate a wider range of body proportions in the marketplace. Specifically, we made the following updates:
Torso.X and Torso.Y:
Revised min set to 0.85 of previous value
Revised max set to 1.15 of previous value
Leg.Y:
Revised min set to 0.7 of previous value
Revised max set to 1.2 of previous value
The 3 tables in the documentation (one for each body type) have been updated to reflect these new values. We have also added a new validation for marketplace publishing to enforce a min/max total size for the avatar body after all body parts are combined. This will prevent avatars from being less than the min and more than the max specified in those tables.
The documentation updated recently, but the information still does not line up correctly with the Studio validator.
I would also like to note that these minimum size requirements should be reconsidered. Although it says the full body Y axis size must be greater than 3.20 studs, this validation check can be avoided altogether and the avatar is able to be validated to be 1.00 studs tall now.
