Sky does not update correctly when Sky's are added and deleted

When you add a skybox to the place then remove it with another skybox in the Lighting object, it does not fallback correctly, and instead the default skybox displays.

Repro steps:

  1. Add 2 new Sky objects to the scene
  2. Delete one of the Sky objects
  3. Observe how the sky reverts to the default sky that appears when there’s no Sky objects, and not the other one remaining in the Lighting service

Expected behavior

The sky fallbacks to the remaining custom skybox in Lighting

I appreciate you sharing this on my behalf! Funnily enough, I haven’t received a response from Bug Support yet. words can’t express how much happier I am!

Our team will be looking at this. It seems to be a pretty old bug.

Update:

An admin has responded to my message finally, and I am currently chatting with him.

A believe our fix has been shipped to Release Notes for 632 | Documentation - Roblox Creator Hub.

Fixed behavior on removing Sky and Atmosphere instances on the Lighting service when multiple Sky or Atmosphere instances are present.

Unfortunately, it seems a lot of fixes from 631 onwards have been delayed in terms of being actually turned on.

I will update when I am able to turn my fix on.

I just turned the bug fix for updating sky on. It should be available now and rolled out to all players with version 633 and above over the next hour or so.
