Smoother trails... how are they done?

So I came across a post by @Kizurex on Twitter and it intrigued me. (below) The trails used were so smooth, like nothing I’ve seen on roblox. I want to know how to go about doing something similar, a smooth nice-looking trail. I can already tell that the issue isn’t making the animation smoother, because the animations used were fast and impactful. I have quite a bit of studio experience (a couple years) but i have never been able to wrap my head around this. Does anyone have any ideas? Help and suggestions are appreciated!

It’s done by particles i believe.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it seems too specific and well-fitting to be a particle. And I’m not sure how a particle would be given such trail-like behaviour.

Maybe it’s the properties? I’ll come up with a tutorial soon when my homework is done
