So, I do scripting commissions so I can end up getting robux rather fast and I’m planning to get 100,000 robux and spend it on my game.
However, since it is such a high amount of robux I need to be positive about my decision. I am thinking about doing a 50,000 robux sponsor for mobile tablet and console and another 50,000 robux just for PC but this time its an ad. I hear ads usually bring richer players and on top of that only work on PC. Is this the best way to split up the robux or is there a better way.
Yes but they don’t work for any device other than PC and on top of that, my game works best on PC and Console. Mobile and tablet still has full support though.
Have you done a trial run on your game? If not, you probably should in order to collect data. The data will tell you which platforms like your game and which do not. Once you know which platforms make up the bulk of your players, you’ll know which platforms to advertise on.
Well actually i don’t know how your game looks like (If it’s an realistic game wich would be super laggy for tablet/mobile or some sort of low-poly style simulator that may run on any device) However if you think it still needs some extra work that you can’t do, then you should probably use some of this Robux to hire developers. That’s because there’s no actual point in advertsing a game if the players are only gonna join for a few minutes and then leave and never come back. In order to make actual profit out of your game ads you gotta have an decent map, Ui and Scripts so that your game can maintain an active player base and make it possible for others to recommend it (so you’ll get even more advertsing for FREE) and enjoy their experience.
So basically, Don’t spend such ammount of money on ADS if you still need some sort of improvement on your game, And also next time make sure to give us some info about your game so that we can give more accurate answers.
I did do a test run but it wasn’t for collecting data, it was for figuring out about playtime stuff. Based off of that, I learned that just having the prison and the bank there and barely anything else besides helping the prisoners escape and rioting can get boring fast. So, due to that… I am adding a lot more fun stuff to do. More weapons, better main menu system, a lot more stuff to rob. Stuff to purchase and maybe even crafting if I finish that in my update. I wanna make the game exactly how I had it in planned. As a developer, i just worked on different stuff to improve in what I did. I became very good at scripting and good at UI Designing. I wanted to bring all my skills together to make my dream game so I really needed this to be perfect.

The game will be 3x better when I release that update so idk if I wanna give you the link now but I’ll try to remember to send you the think on monday when I’m releasing the update
Also, it is a single-developer project. I don’t need a development team. It is a prison game and it went perfectly. Everything looks good, I had no problems with making the ui and scripting it. Not the best at building but I did actually make the prison look exactly how I wanted it to and my friend had some builds he made which i put in the city instead of making the buildings myself because building takes me the longest.
Animations are good, everything turned out good. Just as I had planned. Infact, I’m releasing a huge update with robbable atms, jewelry store, potentially crafting, more stuff to do with money and it will be very good. I love how my game turned out and I’m surprised I did so well even in my inexperienced fields.
I do get what you mean with hiring more developers but I like it how it is and I’m releasing an update making sure I love it because its my dream game and then it will be good and ready!
I suggest sponsoring the game on Fridays and bid 5K-10K Robux over a period of time if you want to build a concurrent player base. Doing so will give you the time to figure out if people will actually enjoy playing your game, make time for improvements, and not have all of your Robux blown.
This is an awesome milestone to reach, but you definitely need to be smart about how you spend it.
The point about the test run is extremely important. You never want to put all of your robux into advertisements at once, especially without knowing what platforms, times, or days work best. Use maybe 10-20% of your fund to figure those pieces out first. If you do that, the rest of the money will do much more work for you.
You also want to be sure your game will earn a return before you spend that amount of money. Use the test run to determine if you’ve monetized well enough. If you end up making a return, you will know the investment is worth it. If not, test different monetization strategies until you have a profitable game.
