Soft-locked from joining any Roblox games

Reproduction Steps
There are no reproductive steps that I can confidently post, but I can provide some details:

  1. My colleague got the Roblox update and I managed to get it an hour or two past that, during both times I was unable to join games
  2. My computer (windows 10) has been active in a studio session since 2/10/2022

Expected Behavior
I expected to be able to close the client after receiving the message that my client is out of date, and then when I click the play button I would get prompted that the client is updating to the latest Roblox experience.

Actual Behavior
I do not get prompted that an update happens, the game starts loading up, then I see a message that says it’s retrying to connect, finally it connects and prompts me with error code 280.

  • Re-installing studio and the client did not fix anything
  • Restarting my computer before and after reinstalling did not fix it as well
  • I also opted out of the beta client and I still encountered this issue
