So far I’ve come across two ways to rig a custom npc or character. Either make the custom character in Blender, rig it in blender, then export it to Roblox or make the character in Blender then export to Roblox and rig it using a plug-in. Which way seems better to you? What are the Pros and Cons of each?
I’m no expert, but I’ve tried both approaches (and a third approach, rig in Roblox without a plugin). I am not a blender power user so I tend to stay closer to studio. I would say if you can get around blender easily then it is probably easier to do all the npc work in blender and then export it to studio.
If you’re like me and you trip over the smallest things in blender then it may be easier to keep blender to a minimum and stay in the Roblox environment. You would need to learn the quirks of Motor6Ds though as it is easy to sometimes get them reversed and such.
I don’t know of any real benefits other than how comfortable you are in each environment. Maybe I missed something in blender that would provide an edge over Roblox.
(Animating a rig is a different story - blender and other resources have great tools to ease animation development).
I personally use studio because while i’ve been learning blender, i don’t exactly know how rigging works yet in the program lol
it also tends to be less time consuming to stay in one program instead of using multiple imo
