Some feedback on this gun mesh

Honestly, this looks VERY basic. It is very blocky and can even be made in Roblox. I’d recommend learning how to round the corners of many aspects of the gun.

It is very cartoony and would look quite nice in certain games. Only a couple things. First, the magazine kinda looks weird because the bottom is flat. Since it is curved the back side of the magazine would probably look better if it was lower than the front. Second, it is a bit small. If you extended the front end and maybe added some room where a hand would fit, I feel like it’d look a lot better. Maybe make the grip a bit bigger too. Also if you were going to use it in a first person perspective consider making the front iron sight hollowed out. Other than that it looks good to me.

Hello there, as @UndecidedFactor stated above this gun mesh looks very basic, and it has a lot of room for improvements.
First of all, the mesh is way too blocky and would look better for sure if it gets scaled down a little bit.
Secondly, adding a texture would definitely make it look better. And in my opinion, it would be easier for you if you have a reference so you can adjust your work and keep it limited to a certain level of detail without getting lost in your decisions if you gotta add something to it or not. And also, looking for tutorials on youtube for example would definitely help.
Other than that, i think you can improve this gun in many ways depending on your way of working. Can’t wait to see how it’s gonna look like after improving it.

It is too basic, but for example the back isnt so bad. But are you joking with the front. Cylinder with 6 sides isn’t best idea

I wanted to make it low poly and it is my 3rd gun in blender

I’d try learn how to round some parts of the gun and add some detail, because as @UndecidedFactor said its VERY basic.

But if its your first go i could understand.

Hi, this SMG mesh looks pretty good! Despite what other people are saying, yes, it’s a bit simple and blocky, but I kind of like that style. -Just my personal opinion.

Keep it up, I’d love to see that with some different colors and/or skins.

It looks pretty good. By the way you could always use tutorials to help you out if you are willing to make better low poly guns.

This video helped me make my first gun on Blender.

This weapon style would work well if the rest of the game was built in a boxy /distorted way.
Just make sure you don’t have any cylinders with more than like 10 polys. It seems you have way too many on the optic which doesn’t fit the style.

To me, I think the gun looks ok but needs some improvement. The gun looks very blocky and even though your are trying to make it look cartoony, you can still round it off a bit to give it a cartoony effect. The sight on your gun is solid and it makes it look incomplete. Try merging the two sides together to make it have a hole and make the sight more complete. The barrel doesn’t exactly look hollow. You can fix that by extruding inward so it looks more like a barrel rather than a solid block. Lastly, try to rotate the edges on the magazine so it looks a little curved and not absolutely straight and odd. Otherwise it looks great and you should defiantly keep up on making these kinds of models.

The gun is too thick. The magazine is not a consistent shape. Hollow out the front sight. Shorten the front sight. Extend the stock further back. Increase the length of the trigger. Look into adding details like a bolt, screws, maybe add a rear sight as well. Don’t let the term “low-poly” prevent you from adding details. Also might wanna use a few references from real-life weapons to help you understand the proportions of each component.

It’s quite unrealistic, this doesn’t look like an SMG if you are looking at it from a far distance.
