On multiple of my games, random bugs have appeared despite me not touching them. This is presumably due to a recent Roblox change.
One of these including getting this disconnect error on attempt of running certain commands, which worked before
Players spawn in my game Criminality, sliding across in a certain direction despite not moving, radio audio stops on unequip (they go on your back and continue playing) however with whatever change bug has done when the parent of the sound instance is changed on the server (it is played on the client), the sound stops. I’m not sure what actually causes any of these problems because it functions fine on testing servers.
There are some bigger problems with this bug change that causes some data problems but I’m not gonna go into that.
I should add, that after checking all these new problems do not occur on the testing server, just the main game, as well as on the old pre-alpha testing place untouched for months, which shows it isn’t anything done by me.
This change also broke the build tool gui in my game Creeper chaos (failed to parent to playergui for whatever reason), managed to fix that easily but it doesn’t explain why the bug randomly started occurring despite the game not being updated for 1-2 months.
So yeah, pretty annoying when functioning code which works in one place doesn’t work properly published to another. Can anyone explain why this is? Done multiple checks, definitely nothing I’ve done.
Also experiencing a bug where my gui is failing to parent, have found in a playtest it usually works, and in a studio 2 player test, the 1st player works and the 2nd fails 95% of the time if not more. Only noticed in the last few days. Spent couple hours reducing my code to barebones, tested old code which worked normally and it has this issue.
I managed to fix the significant problems caused by it but there are some other weird occurrences such as players able to equip two tools at once (uses the Roblox backpack). Rarely happens but again definitely not linked to something I’ve done.
Surprised I’ve seen barely anything about anyone else being affected much.
Also tip: Don’t use startergear or starterpack for tools, literally.
The reason you may be experiencing that, is because you may have been lagging/ had high ping. So the anti cheat detects that, and thinks you’re doing something suspicious. That’s only my guess, I could be wrong.
