Introduction
This document will cover exactly how Mini-Shows should be ran at Sophisticated Productions. Failure to meet these guidelines will result in a warning.
Roles in shows
There are four main roles in a Mini-Show. And they go as follows:
Backstage Staff & Manager
-
Backstage Staff
These people help with costume changing, building temporary sets (WITH CONSENT FROM THE MANAGER / SHOW PRODUCER) and improvisation. -
Backstage Manager
The manager, for the show, are required to mainly be building the set and supervising with changes.
BTOOLS RULES.
Building anywhere outside of the stage is not tolerated.
Creating huge fires or laggy structures is not tolerated.
If you build something that’s against Roblox Terms of Service, you will be fired.
If you have any further questions, please contact a Corporate+.
COSTUME RULES
All costumes must be suitable for all ages and not be within violation of Roblox Terms of Service.
Using costumes that are against SP Code of Conduct is not tolerated.
Using clothing that has advertising is also not tolerated.
Actor
Actors are what truly make the show come to life. They perform on stage for the audience and act as the characters that they have been assigned. These people are expected to have good memory.
Security
Security are there to ensure that the server is safe from trollers, exploiters and anything that may intervene from the audience members having the upmost enjoyable time that they can. To keep this high level of expectation we hold a three warning system.
Show Producer
The producer creates the script for the show. They will organise the show to the second. They may also help with creating the set.
Setting the show up
This section is for MR+
You must list it 24 hours before the first practice. You are also expected to create a script before the first practice. You can list it here: Trello You are expected to practice the show at least 3 times before performing it to audience members.
Practice
Show practice time is vital. Every second counts.
Show Producer
As already previously mentioned, you must set out all stage movements and script for the whole show. The show may last up to 20 minutes. It is heavily recommended that you keep it short and sweet. So about 5-10 minutes would do absolutely fine. You are expected to :slock the server. Practice times may last up to 2 hours, or even more if required. However, you must still do at least 3 practice shows before the actual show.
Acting
Actor(s) are expected to follow what the producer says. At Sophisticated Productions, we believe in taking in peoples opinion. Therefore, if you disagree with something, feel free to give constructive criticism. This can be achievable by stating your view in a polite manner. For an example:
You: Hey, I don’t think the idea of all of us entering at once is a good idea. I think we should have a more ‘broken-up’ entrance.
Producer: That sounds like a good idea, let’s try this…
Backstage Crew
You are expected to follow what the Show Producer says and keep up with their requirements. We ask that you keep up with their requirements and standards. The set must be fairly simple and shouldn’t take no more than 15 minute to build.
Security aren’t required to be at practice shows.
Day of the show
The show will happen on a Saturday. The time of the show must be specified when you list the show in the first place on the trello board. All staff members of the show are expected to be at the Queensmen Theater 30 minutes before hand. This gives time to either re build the set. During this time, the show curtains must be closed!
We wish you the best of luck with hosting!
