Special Education Programs
Here at Park East Academy, we provide students with alternative education programs for students who feel like General Education is restricting their learning experience. We offer a total of three Alternative Education programs, Behavioral Intervention, Resource Intervention, and Honors. Each program is designed to ensure that all students are receiving a quality education that is comfortable for them. Below you can find information about each program, including a general explanation of the program and information about the Case Manager of each program.
Resource
Resource Intervention is a separate setting, either a classroom or a smaller designated room, where a
special education program can be delivered to a student with a disability, individually or in a small group. Resource rooms are used in a variety of ways ranging from instruction, homework assistance, meetings, or representing students’ alternative social space.
Honors Program
Honors is a program that is implemented to ensure that students who are moving at a faster pace and do not have a difficulty comprehending the information taught to them are moving at a faster pace. Honors Program implemented for our students that do exceedingly well in the General Ed classes and for those who would like a challenge in their learning. In order to be in the Honors program, you need to ensure that you have good grades and no behavioral issues within the group to be considered for this program. The maximum number of students the Honors program can hold is unlimited.
