SpecialMesh says no to textures

I used some blender addon to get terrain of a specific area then import it into in life there’s road blocks then get an overlay and import it, but this just isn’t it.

Try using MeshParts, SpecialMeshes are kinda deprecated.

I have to use a SpecialMesh so it’s big. The texture is just going to the Average color, which is no good

I dont know how to fix this problem, but I think I found a bit of solutions for ya:

Source: SpecialMesh | Documentation - Roblox Creator Hub

That may help.
It will look better with a closeup as well.

Well, I’m not using BasePart.Material, I’m using SpecialMesh.Texture

I think putting a decal on top of the mesh will work.

This just gives the same result.

Still not solved, someone please help

Try splitting up the same mesh into smaller parts then importing them individually. (fourths, eighths, whatever prevents the texture from becoming the average color). I know this seems pretty tedious, but I really can’t think of better solution.

Hope this solves the issue.

Before doing this, I tried texturing a much smaller mesh. The texture was applied, however, I saw something new. “Copy texture ID to clipboard.” I’m gonna try re-importing the mesh and see if that’s there, then try using an FBX, and if all fails, I will do this.

EDIT: I’m searching for the mesh file of my terrain, but I can’t find it. Huh

Turns out, I imported the original as an FBX after thinking about importing it as an OBJ. Importing it as an OBJ seems to have fixed the issue.
