Spectaqual's UGC Item Q&A

Where can I buy your items?

Click here to visit my shop! Hope you find something you like!

Looking for my older items? They’re right over here!

What kind of items do you make?

I want to give the building blocks to help you create your vision! Many of my ideas come from looking back on over a decade of experience on Roblox and asking “What’s still missing here?”

I also like eggs.

Why are you making eggs? Spring’s not for another X months!

As someone who’s found everything Roblox’s egg hunts have to offer, there’s been a few eggs of my own I’ve been wanting to make! Why would I wait to get started?

Will you make any items set to go off sale after a limited time?

No plans to. I don’t like the pressure that time limits push. If you’re going to buy something, I want it to be because I made something you love!

Will you be making any of your items “Collectibles”?

My goal as a UGC creator is to release items which are affordable, and digital scarcity goes completely against that. The idea of the average player spending thousands of robux for a digital item, something which can be duplicated instantly at no cost, doesn’t sit right with me.

Unfortunately, with Roblox’s plans for a Collectible-only marketplace, I’m not sure I’ll be able to continue releasing items. I’ll do my best to make sure any releases I may end up doing are as fair as possible, but there’s only so much I can do with the changes being put into place.

When are you releasing [Item]?

There’s a number of reasons an item may get delayed or scrapped. Just pretend the answer is always “Never.” so that if it ever does release, it’s a cool surprise that you tell all your friends about.

Are you for hire? Do you take commissions?

If you’ve got a cool project in mind, contact me! More than happy to look at your offer! You can either send me a message on the DevForum, or email me ( Spectaqual@gmail.com )!

Do you take requests? Can you make [Idea]?

No, sorry. I want my UGC to be my own, and I’ve got plenty of ideas noted down.

How would I get permission to use your UGC Avatar Shop items in my experience?

Please contact me with your use case, and I’ll try to respond when I’m available.

The permissions granted below only apply to accessories uploaded to my Roblox account “Spectaqual” between July 8th, 2020 and October 23rd, 2020. I am NOT granting these permissions to any items I’ve released outside of that timeframe.

Spectaqual 2020 UGC Accessory Permissions
  • The items can only be used within the Roblox platform.

  • The content that the items are used in must not break Roblox’s Terms of Service.

  • If the items are used within a game, credit must be noted somewhere the player can reasonably find it.

  • In any situation where the rights to an item are partially owned by someone else, you need their permission as well as mine to use it in the ways allowed here.

  • If an item is a unique character (the name is a proper noun, and the character has distinct traits which make it original) then it cannot be used. For example, a generic party hat can be used, even if they’re named “Eric The Radical Birthday Hat”, but if that bowling ball also has set of teeth, a mohawk, some sunglasses, and a crack on the side of their head, then Eric is a unique character created by me, and cannot be used.

  • You may create shirts, pants, and t-shirts based on my items, including items which are unique characters, as long as you link to the original UGC items.

  • If the UGC item is available in a “clothing store” game, in which the user is able to buy items in-game to use across Roblox’s selection of games, the user should be able to purchase the original UGC item for their Roblox avatar from within the game.

  • If the UGC item is offered as an in-game item the player can wear, the player should not be able to spend robux to progress towards gaining that item.

  • The UGC item may not be used to represent a lootbox purchase.

  • As long as you’re not using items which are unique characters, any avatars and character designs made using my items are yours to use as you please. The items become aspects of a full design, and it’d be unfair for me to try to claim that in some way.

  • Eggs cannot be used as items the player can receive after finishing a task, no egg hunts.
