Hi! I was recently working on my github profile and I wanted something cool for my readme. It was at the same time I stumbled upon this repository that allowed me to create a now playing card on my profile. I figured I could attach the generated url api reference anywhere that supported markdown such as discourse. Hence this tutorial!
Step 1) Head over to the aforementioned github repository and authorise the spotify portal.
I did not make this repository, but I have briefly skimmed through the source code. You could probably self-host this but github provides everything you want for free. My final remarks are, I am completely open to removing this post as it is not directly related to Roblox, and it could be considered shit-posting.
With that out of the way, now go on sharing what you are listening to while developing
I like this and it does make your “about me” section look cool, however, this could show something that can be deemed inappropriate by Roblox’s rules and get your account moderated. I would advise against using this if you’re listening to music with potentially inappropriate album artwork.
There are different themes you can choose from if you do not want to show the artwork completely. That is not to say that the titles cannot be subject to illicit language.
In my opinion, the DevForum supposedly has a mature community, a bit of explicit content here and there won’t hurt anyone. And if it does, I will remove the post and take responsibility.
Yes but there’s also a lot of kids here. Honestly could argue that there’s more kids than mature developers here. While this isn’t necessarily a bad resource that you made, the users using might might get in trouble.
Yeah, most teenagers are exposed to explicit content unless they have super strict parents, but that doesn’t change roblox’s rules, i’m gonna be using this though as i’m fine with taking a risk until anyone higher up can confirm or deny this is against the rules
Also to be honest there will be some problems, some people (like me) are listening to not rally family-friendly music. Mostly words but what can I say…
So, I figured this out a while ago, or at least noticed something was wrong when I wasn’t listening to music.
When you’re not listening to anything, at least in my experience, it will say you’re listening to songs you’re not. (As you’re not even on Spotify).
This isn’t a problem as long as you don’t have anything with an inappropriate album cover on the playlist you left Spotify with. (The playlist that was open when you closed Spotify)
It seems to just show a bunch of songs on your playlist randomly. If anything I’ll try submitting it as an issue on GitHub (if there’s not already one)
@Ukendio, have you done anything differently recently? DevForum is corrupting the element by caching it as an image which becomes just a transparent one when I put it on my profile. It takes a bit for that to happen, not sure how long.
