I am trying to create a flashlight using a spotlight.
When the flashlight gets close to a wall, the light dims until the player is close to the wall, and it just disappears.
This is not what you would expect to see. Unless the player is right up against the wall, the light should not dim, but rather get brighter as the light is getting close to the wall.
I’ve tried repositioning the light to behind the actual flashlight, but that doesn’t do it.
I played with some of the parameters to see if that would help, but alas, here I am
Here is what I’d expect to happen:
Any Help will be appreciated! Thank you for your time!
As you can see at about 2 seconds and 4 seconds into your first video your spotlight is actually at “that” location.
I’d move the spotlight back that far.
Also, I’d probably reduce the angle from 180 degrees down a bit, try around 80 degrees to match up to a flashlight’s angle.
I’ve actually been having this issue myself, try possibly messing up with the properties such as ‘brightness’ or ‘range’ or even positioning the spotlight even further back than it already is.

Yes, I get what you’re saying. But even when its approaching its max distance from the wall, it shouldn’t dim. I understand the light wouldn’t reach as far, but dimming is wrong. The light should concentrate on the center area, and brighten as the light gets closer.
I ended up just using a degree of 145, a brightness of 16 and a range of 8 until I can get a more accurate setup.
EDIT:
I’d actually like to make a request to have the spotlight lighting more realistic if I can. How would I do that?
