đź‘‹ Welcome to the HR team! At StarByte, the HR team supervises trainings, performs moderation duties in-game, and assists customers and staff. This handbook contains all of the information that is necessary to accurately perform your duties at StarByte.

This is a public handbook and may be distributed freely.


Information

HR Guidelines

As a member of the HR team, you are expected to uphold the same guidelines that appear in the public, LR, and MR handbooks. You are not exempt from any rules listed, and you will have the same consequences for violating those rules.

Activity Requirements

Each rank in the HR team has a maximum capacity of 5 members. As such, it is imperative that all members be active. Due to your team’s low member limit and higher duties, your activity requirement is increased.

All members of the HR team must meet the following Minimum Activity Guidelines:

  • 30 minutes per week in-game
  • 2 training sessions attended per month

All members of the HR team are recommended to meet the following Recommended Activity Guidelines:

  • 60 minutes per week in-game
  • 3 training sessions attended per month
  • Consistent activity
  • Consistent spelling, punctuation, and grammar

After your activity notice, the minimum activity during the grace period of 1 week is 15 minutes in-game, and you are recommended to do 30 minutes in-game and 1 training session.

Please be advised that you may be assigned other duties by your department leader. If this is the case, your other activity requirements may be reduced in favor of it. You can still receive activity warnings if you fail to meet your required or recommended activity guidelines.

Departments

As a member of the HR team, you are assigned to one of 3 departments:

Staffing Department
Responsible focus is demoting and promoting LRs and MRs.

Engagement Department
Responsible focus is organizing events, interacting with alliances, and boosting the StarByte image.

Operating Department
Responsible focus is ranking at trainings, delivering announcements in the server, and moderating the server.

You as an HR assigned to a specific department will be led by either a Chief Staffing Officer, Chief Engagement Officer, or Chief Operating Officer. That lead is responsible for promoting and demoting HRs of your department.

You are allowed to switch departments as an HR. However, by doing so you will be ranked back to Director Intern. Switching departments just for the sake of switching them is unacceptable and will result in a demotion to an MR rank.

Issuing Consequences to MRs

After breaking a staff or MR rule, MRs need to be issued a consequence. First, run the :demote or :terminate command on the MR if they require it.

Prepare one of the scripts from the MR guide based on the action you are imposing on them.

:res them, :bring them back to yourself in an area where you won’t attract attention, and send the message.

Wait 10 seconds and then :ban them.

Rank Bans and Permanent Bans

As a member of the HR team, you are authorized to give rank bans to any LR or MR who has been terminated twice or has committed admin abuse.

First, go to the group settings on roblox.com. Then, go to the Members tab. Search the user by typing their full username.

Click the 3 dots to the top right of the user, and then click “Ban User”.

Click confirm, and this will immediately ban them from the group, which is a Rank Ban. Keep in mind that being able to rank ban someone is a privilege and abusing it will a result in a rank ban yourself.

Wait 30 seconds, and then :res them. :bring them to you in an area where you won’t attract attention. Paste the following message:

You have been Rank Banned from StarByte due to [reason].

Wait 10 seconds and then :ban them.

That concludes rank bans, for permanent bans, it is different.

If a player is banned 2 times or have broken the Roblox TOS, they need to be permanently banned. Permanent bans should be given for evading bans as well. Do not prepare a message and do NOT tell the player they are being permanently banned. Run the :pban [full username] [reason] command on them. It is essential that you use the full username and include a reason otherwise you’ll see an error.

StarByte bans use the Roblox-provided Ban API. As such, alt detection is included. However, if the player leaves the game before you can pban them, immediately file a Ban API request in the communications server. An Executive Team member will ban them manually using the API.

StarByte Admin Commands

As an HR, you have the same commands as an MR with a few extra. Below is the list of new commands as an HR.

:m :m [text] Shows a notice to everyone with a specified message. :white_check_mark:
:slock Locks the server so only MRs+ can join. :warning: - In case of a raid.
:unslock Unlocks the server so everyone can join. :white_check_mark:
:logs Shows all logs of admin commands. :white_check_mark:
:h :h [text] Shows a notice to everyone at the top of their screen with a specified message. :white_check_mark:
:logs Shows all logs of admin commands. :white_check_mark:
:pban :pban [player] [reason] Permanently bans a player from StarByte. :warning: - USE WITH CAUTION / Follow Permanent Ban guide.
:countdown :countdown [seconds] Starts a countdown for a specified number of seconds. :white_check_mark:
Promoting Lead Technicians and MRs

Promoting these individuals is a big step. If you’re promoting a Lead Technician to Staff Assistant, first check to see that there are less than 15 members of the Staff Assistant role. Do this by going to the group.

Run the :promote [player] command in-game. Wait 30 seconds.

If they have a register claimed, use the unclaim tool on it. Walk outside of StarByte to a place where you won’t attract attention. Run the :res [player] command on them and bring them. Paste the following message:

:tada: Congratulations on being promoted to Staff Assistant! As an MR, you now have access to certain moderation commands and abilities. Feel free to rejoin!

Afterwards, brief them on their new admin commands as well as answer questions if they have any.

Optionally, send ONE :m command congratulating them on their new rank.

To promote a Staff Assistant - Management Team member, make sure that the new role has less than 15 members, then run the :promote [player] command on them and wait 30 seconds.

:res the player and bring them to you. Paste the following message:

:tada: Congratulations on being promoted to [rank]! You now have new training abilities to use in the Training Center! Enjoy!

Optionally, send ONE :m command congratulating them on their new rank.

Please note that ALL MR ranks as well as Lead Technician have a promotion cooldown of 14 days. This means that after promoting someone to one of these ranks, they cannot be promoted again for 2 weeks. You can check their current cooldown status by checking the promotion logs channel.
