Starscape Changelog v4.2

This is the official changelog for Starscape Update 4.2 of the Pre-Beta testing phase: the Haulers update.

Features

  • Added five new Hauler-class ships which can be used to transport cargo crates across the galaxy
  • Added cargo docks to every space station which buy and sell cargo crates, a commodity which can only be transported by haulers
  • Added dynamic economy system for cargo crates allowing players to buy low and sell high to make money off of cargo hauling
  • Added new combat logging system which causes player ships in dangerous situations to stay in space for thirty seconds before despawning
  • Added two resource platforms which sell cargo crates: Spice and Agriculture platforms

Changes

  • Added “probes launched” and “cargo sold” stats to career window
  • Added new Cargo tab to assets menu to keep track of stored cargo at stations across the galaxy
  • Added a “Press X to cancel alignment” tip if the player’s ship gets stuck while aligning for warp
  • Increased the max number of features in each region of space from two to three
  • Buffed some ship warp speeds

Fixes

  • Hostile ships will no longer immediately attack a player after warping between systems
  • Fixed z-fighting for lighting in docking bays
  • Fixed faction targeter upgrades to actually work
  • Fixed stars so that they will no longer appear to “bounce” when warping toward them while transferring systems
  • Fixed ship trackers and wrecks to display the ship’s correct name
  • Fixed an issue where drone fleets could corrupt system data on despawn
  • Fixed an issue where weapons could still fire while invisible and unequipped
