I’m no game dev, but I have a small amount of experience in that area. I 100% recommend having a plan of what exactly you want it to be like before you start; write it out maybe on a google or word doc, or wherever you prefer to have a digital copy of it.

Good idea, or maybe some drawing but im using terrain so that would be a small problem for me.

I don’t have much experience in FPS game development, however the following ideas might help.

Start planning out your ideas onto what theme would you prefer for your game (e.g. cold war, laser play, paint war, etc.). this will help you form a more firm base for your game.

Second, do research and take notes. I advice looking into other FPS games to get some ideas as well, and take notes from your observations.

Get to know new plugins that can help you perform the development of the game much more easier. Such as terrain editor plugins, this can help you form a map in a much more easier way. Also, considering that you don’t have much time to create more assets/models, you can always use free ones but be careful.

Lastly, if you really want to achieve a FPS game like Arsenal or like other mainstream FPS games with large maps and large commands to work on, I really suggest forming a team or with trusted developers to help you with the process.

That will be all, I hope you the best in creating your game. Good luck! Have a good one. :+1:

I may not have experience in project managing fps games however I would really recommend the following things in order to start in a positive manner.

  1. Employ a Project Manager for your game so they can assist you with structuring the plans, forming a team and dealing with payments.
  2. Use a website or application to plan the game however I would recommend Trello as it is reliable and can be structured and planned well.
  3. Decide on how many development members you will need for the project and decide how much you’d want to spend on the development. Bare in mind that you will need money for advertisements.
  4. Recruit a suitable amount of members for your team once you’ve planned it well and have a budget in mind.
  5. Ensure that the Project Manager is actively assigning tasks to the developers so your development is moving along well.

I would pretty much recommend those 5 steps on behalf of the experience I have and hopefully, you should accomplish a lot. Just make sure you don’t rush the game and take your time in planning because that is an important stage as if it’s not planned well it won’t be coordinated well.

Good luck with your project and most of all be original so you can attract players!

Thanks for the tips, and I dont think they will know that I made that model because 80% people visits my original made will said “free model game” and that could be a problem for me. I’m not a scripter, so I’m going to use some gun kit and make it batter

Since you’ve never made a project before and you want to push it and make an FPS game, I suggest you start slow, mess around, make some small games, maybe a game where 1 person is infected and tries to get others, just something small, and make more than 1 of those projects. This should give you a basic idea of what it’s like to develop a game. I hope this helps.

I would suggest finishing the game logic first (scripts), and then the modeling and visuals. You should also make a very basic/bare bones map to debug the game with.

Since you don’t know how to start and have few experience, I suggest to just play around first. Don’t focus on big stuff yet, as you will probably be discouraged by the difficulty of that big achievement. But I hope you will become a good developer!
