it looks great , one thing that i would comment on is that when the magazine is taken out the gun swings from side to side a bit unaturally.
The ‘swinging side to side’ is just to make the gun more visible. If the gun is always in the arm the mag is barely visible - I shift it left/right to make the mag visible. I’m pretty sure this is a popular animation tactic anyway.
It looks pretty nice. A strange thing I notived is that at a few points the gun unnaturally “slides” through the arm clipping it, which obviously looks unnatural.
Again,
thank you for the feedback anyways.
Looks good. I really think the only issue is how slow the off-hand is when smacking the bolt. Make it a lot quicker to come down, and even have the gun move down a bit from the force. make it really look like you had to put force into it, it’ll help the animation feel fast and improve the pace of (presumably) your FPS game.
Other than than, amazing job.
He’s not smacking the bolt lol. It’s a bolt pull-back, but it just looks like it’s being smacked cause the gun recoils back.
Oh, alright!
If that’s the case, i would keep the gun down a bit because the hand looks like it’s going up and smacking the bolt. Looks good otherwise
I feel like the animation overall moves around too much. In order to give a bit more flavor and punch to a reload animation, most of the movement should probably be placed around key areas (ex. inserting/removing a magazine and pulling a bolt.) When these key areas happen within the keyframe, then the gun should probably attempt to naturally go back to where it originally was, unless the next keyframe requires another position.
A lot of the movement seems rotational, but I think having more positional movement would be nice.
yes, but the problem i have with it is that when you take the cartrige out it slides half in and then out,i think it would look better if it only slid in once the cartrige is in. the half slide feels very unessesary for the animaton.
