Storybook staff only plugin causing bugs

Upon opening any game on roblox I am greeted with these errors which fill up my entire output window. This is caused by the “Storybook” plugin being enabled for non-staff members like me. Unless I am a staff member now…

Expected behavior

I expect the story book plugin and this error to be removed.

Looks like it doesn’t check for Roblox internal before it gets initialized. Interesting…
I don’t experience this, however.

Yes and tnavarts just said this:

Really helping out…

Getting the same thing - I can see the plugin, and it’s filling my console with a wall of orange every time I open studio… Does that mean I’m staff now?

Mmm i lost a bit of progress trying to remove the storybook thing, my output looks the same… irritating.

Darn, RIP to you.

Maybe. I am still waiting for my ability to moderate users because I am tired of those “thirst trap” avatars.

To fix this, Fully uninstall RobloxStudio and delete the RobloxStudio folder in AppData\Local\Roblox.

Don’t click Storybook next time and you should be safe from the errors.

Did this and it didn’t work. I still get the errors. Roblox needs to fix this issue. How was I supposed to know that a new button showing up in Studio wasn’t for clicking?

As this is an internal plugin, I don’t think this bug report will be actioned, other than the removal of the plugin from non-staff, which has already been confirmed will happen in the next Studio update. You should probably close this report.

No, I won’t close it.

I mysteriously got this storybook plugin recently as well and ever since my studio has been running slower. My cursor in studio will be jumpy and the graphics make strange abstractions. I have no idea why its doing this and the only thing that I know has changed was that storybook being added.

This literally crashes my studio.

A temporary fix/workaround for anyone who wants to get rid of all these spammed warnings/errors in the output:

  1. Locate your Roblox Studio installation directory, example (C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Roblox\Versions\version-343512800f264d5b, for quick access on Windows you can head to %localappdata%\Roblox\Versions\version-343512800f264d5b)
  2. Open the folder called BuiltInPlugins
  3. Open the folder within that folder called Optimized_Embedded_Signature
  4. Delete the file DeveloperStorybook.rbxm

This will basically be like manually uninstalling the plugin, did it my self and it gets rid of all the warnings and errors from output (as the plugin is no longer there).

thank you this fixed it for me, but for me the plugin was located in the BuiltInPlugins folder, not BuiltInStandalonePlugins

Mac:

/Applications/RobloxStudio.app/Contents/Resources/BuiltInPlugins/Optimized_Embedded_Signature/DeveloperStorybook.rbxm
