Stud-like underground shop

i have been trying to make a underground shop, but however i try to build it, it always look… off

i tried to use gray, but it looked too bland-y, unlike a shop
brown looks alright, but still a bit fake, what do you guys think?

Underground means dirt

Try a brown cave with rocks

And dont forget the studs on the walls

well this is more like a underground bunker shop so cave wouldn’t really work
and studs on the walls, i saw a lot of stud games did not use studs on the walls, like untitled border game so i refrained from doing that, it might be a little distracting

oh and it is inspired by little shop of junk

Looking good so far! Here’s a few suggestions

  • Add more detail to the lights and make them a bit less blocky

  • Add a shop counter / clerk

  • Add some decorations such as classic decals or maybe holes in the walls

In conclusion try some of the things I suggested if you want - and try to fill up the space more. Hope it helps

It’s a bit tough to give any suggestions with 2 walls, a floor, a ceiling and 2 lights, but here goes.

Take a look at other underground places and block built games. They don’t have to be from both styles at the same time, but they might provide some help and ideas. A few suggestions I have are
Sinister Gale Peninsula - Roblox,
Renewed Farmhouse - Roblox,
and Times of Change - Roblox.

I’d stay away from the blaring yellow lights. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen interior lights that yellow.

Too blue. Disable EnvironmentDiffuseScale in the lighting properties.

Studs on the walls are unrealistic since it’s not how old Roblox looked.

what should i make the lights look like?

lol yeah the image was just a lil demo of what im talking about, heres what it looks like now, very prototype, but the colors still feels off

Try to envision exactly what the perfect underground shop would look like. Coming up with a clear understanding of what you’re trying to make will help you build it.
My second suggestion is to look at pictures of a shop from another Roblox game. This may give you some inspiration and new ideas.
This is the shop from Piggy, for example:

Do what you think fits, heres a suggestion.

What about some dirt near where the walls meet the floor to make it look old.

I suggest maybe making the ceiling have inlets or welds on bottom. I also do not suggest putting studs on the walls/sides of parts. I good way to get a general basis of what you’re going for with the older styles of building is to look at models from around that time.

alright after a bit of editing i made a rough sketch of the shop, still unsure of the lights though.
(the shelf is a WIP trying it make it look normal while still being functional)
the real problem are the tables, i cannot get a good final shape of it, any ideas/suggestions would be nice

Shape looks good but there isn’t a really good counter, and the lights are neon, which was not a material that existed at the time. Definitely an improvement since my last look at it though.
