Hey! So, as of recent there has been an issue whilst exporting models from Roblox Studio. As theres these unwanted stud textures that seemed almost baked into the model, however this only seems to affect the smooth plastic material. This issue has been brought up here, and is labelled as “fixed” Unwanted Legacy Studs Texture on OBJ Export
Here are the steps:
- Select the model and export the model as an OBJ
- Open blender and import the model as an OBJ
- Click on “Viewport Shading”
When you click on Viewport shading it’ll mostly likely reveal the textures on the model. This has only happened recently and hasnt been an issue until a week or two ago I believe. Deleting the image file in the file explorer removes the texture but makes the smooth plastic parts of model pink.

Here is the difference between not and before I had this issue:
Stud Texture:
Expected behavior
Export the model as is, import it into blender as is as an OBJ and use the PBR solutions addon to give the model its color and its texture/materials from Roblox are also imported without the stud texture.
