This has been a problem for a pretty long time.
Like the title says, Roblox Studio begins to break and slow down after building and working with a large amount of parts for long periods of time.
Here is a list of some of the things that begin to happen. PC specs
Both symptoms of Alt being pressed. I’ve had Studio not realize I released Alt if I release it in another program, such as when Alt+Tab-ing.
Does pressing Alt fix those last two? In my case, it would always make Studio “realize” that I’m not pressing Alt anymore.
A small note: Alt + Click selects individual parts, but it doesn’t always work on first click if you didn’t have the viewport selected. This seems to match your video behavior above, where the first click selects the model, and the second time selects the part.
What version of Windows are you running? (Start → Type “System Information” → OS Name and Version)
What version of Roblox are you running? (File → About Roblox Studio)
I see your point but pressing alt doesn’t seem to make a difference. In the video, I was able to select the model normally the first time, and I didn’t press anything but the main mouse button during that recording so this doesn’t seem to be the problem.
I’m using Windows 10 (V10.0.16299)
Studio version 0.321.0.174771 (The newest version I’d assume? I tend to keep my software up to date.)
I’ve never had issues with selecting Parts though even if I’ve been in Studio for 8 hours at a stretch.
Are you using any Plugins during your Studio time?
I find sometimes when I don’t turn one Plugin off before turning another one on it can cause issues, but I think that is due the Plugins breaking, not Studio.
CTRL+Clicking for multi select stopped working. Then, I can’t select ANY models, except for this one that for some reason only selects the specific part I clicked on. Tapping alt to “refresh” its state does not fix this issue for me. This specific model causes what is shown in the top^^ screenshot, clicking on any other model does not create a visible difference in the micro-profile thing at the top of the screen. The main difference seems to be this grey area
I don’t know how much of this is useful but I’m trying to be descriptive as possible with my limited knowledge of how the backend or any of the micro-profiler work. Hopefully this helps fix something because as of today this is becoming a huge issue for me
Edit: I just double-clicked one of the models that wasnt selecting and it selected the the entire model from earlier that I was only selecting the parts inside. This behavior makes literally no sense and I have to restart studio every 20 minutes
