I feel like this should temporarily be taken out of beta until its unexpected crash issues are resolved, It seems like even with the simplest unions it still crashes your studio.
It is a nice update that we’ve all been requesting for over the years but its beta release might of been a bit rushed or a few things were overlooked during development which is resulting in these unexpected crashes.
CSG Version 3 crashes studio when a smoothing angle is changed. Yesterday, I unioned a frame consisting of 5 metal parts colored “Dark Stone Grey”. What I got did not really please my eyes as it was not solid “Dark Stone Grey”, so I decided to mess up with the “smoothing angle” in a hope to fix the issue I had. When I changed it to 1 and quickly reverted to 0, studio has crashed.
today i had a prob with this
whenever i try to combine parts together using union the studio crashed
when i disabled csg v3
i could combine parts with no studio crashing
@JoshSedai Tested in studio. Noticed improved performance.
In our driving game have been using invisible colliders that were placed above roads and tracks to improve performance. There is a bug in live game, and in studio with this new CSG engine as well, where simple square collider (4 vertexes) has “hole” inside of it, when using Default CF (with Hull it’s even worse), so the driving experience is not good due bumpy roads and tracks.
I’ve noticed a bug with this beta. This union I made can no longer be separated, and any negations I add to it ruin the union entirely. Shown below is the error and the before and after of a negation.
