Awesome update! thank you roblox. I will place some cool scars and tribal face paints for my game. No more changing textures!

If you want a :glowing_star:metaverse :glowing_star: this badly, then get a nice VR headset and go to VRChat.

Roblox manages what their finite number of paid employees get appointed to do. Instead of them paying to employ their teams to develop whatever the heck this absolute abomination is:

They could instead focus their limited resources on some of the items the quoted user highlighted. I’m not taking a stand; I’m just raising the point that he didn’t include. The teams themselves are isolated, but they are managed by higher-ups who are at the controls of juggling priorities.

The Makeup feature is not just tied to Makeup, the new APIs introduced literal decal warping and multiple decal layering.

I just don’t know why they’re specifically mentioning it’s for Makeups only.

Probably the easiest way to introduce the technology to a wider range of people. Players who primarily play games and dress their avatars aren’t going to know what decal warping and layering is.

To be fair, they could have easily announced the specific developer-facing benefits of this feature here on the DevForum but announced the actually player-facing side of this feature on their blog where normal players are more likely to see it anyway (how many non-developers are seriously browsing this forum to begin with?)

help I’m scared now what is ts :skull::wilted_flower:

I was recently thinking about this feature but would we be able to change the eye color? That was what I was hoping for otherwise we would have to make individual textures for each head

Are there actually girls out there who will use this?

I just wish they used some better looking characters to demonstrate this instead of those cheap fortnite-looking ones that nobody ever wears

I personally wanted to have these features for more complex avatar (and object overall) customization. Like, with editable meshes, layered clothing, makeup function, pbr and etc it already possible to recreate something looking like The Sims CAS or The Elder Scrolls character customization menu when before it would look crappy without all these features, after all it’s better to have it instead not have anything

Edit: Not forget to mention that this feature can be used as additional details to face like birth marks, face paint (military, clown, animal) and so on
